George Clooney, who celebrates his 54th birthday on Wednesday, and the first with new wife Amal, is reportedly getting a Porsche 911 GT3 RS as a present. The actor’s penchant for fine autos—and motorcycles—is well known, so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that someone, in this case Amal, would consider the hottest 911 on sale right now to be an ideal birthday present for him. According to the Mirror, Clooney has already taken a test drive of the car in the U.K., though his one will end up in the U.S. where it replace an older 911 owned by the actor. It will join several other vehicles owned by Clooney including a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette and a Harley Davidson. A source told the newspaper that Clooney “loves” cars, and that the actor prefers them “stylish and fast.” We’re not sure if that last part is entirely true, though, as Clooney has previously owned the oddball Tango electric car. Of course, when it comes to striking cars it’s hard to ignore the latest 911 GT3 RS. The car packs a 4.0-liter flat-six good for 500 horsepower and 338 pound-feet of torque, all of which is directed to the rear wheels via Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The car goes on sale in the U.S. this July, priced from $176,895 with shipping, and Clooney’s is expected to be one of the first examples in the country.
